This show is part of the “Osaka Nightlife Culture” project promoted by the Osaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry, together with the Osaka Municipal Office and Osaka Convention & Tourism Bureau, to help visitors enjoy leisurely nighttime sightseeing in Osaka. A digest of four representative traditional performing arts of Osaka will be on stage, so that even people unfamiliar with them can easily appreciate their essence. Feel free to join the audience in a relaxed manner! In the "taiken (hands-on experience)" program halfway through the show, three volunteers from the audience will be invited onstage to actually try performing. Performers’ autographs will be presented to them as a memento. Your active participation is required. This performance can be called a “sampler” of traditional Osaka performing arts. A highlight of various performing arts will be played as a showcase for first-timers, each performance lasting about 15 minutes. Due to its purpose of introducing different genres of performing arts of Osaka, the program continually changes, offering you a once-in-a-lifetime encounter. Professional performers jointly transmit the appeal of traditional Osaka performing arts so that the power of culture contributes to enhanced vibrancy of the city. Although this is a regularly scheduled performance on the first and third Saturday evenings each month, organizers trust that even repeat visitors will find it full of discoveries and amusement.
